Vous vous êtes mis en retrait en équipe nationale, qu’est-ce qui explique votre retour ?
Mon retrait n’a jamais été motivé par mon rapport avec le groupe, Il y était lié à d’énormes problèmes d’organisation au sein de la sélection. J’ai eu un ras le bol, cela avait provoqué mon arrêt. Là, je suis revenu car c’est important d’appartenir à une équipe nationale, et j’ai envie que la Guinée aille de l’avant. Je prends sur moi car je sais que les choses ne vont pas s’arranger totalement du jour au lendemain.
Votre retour correspond à un moment délicat sportivement. La Guinée étant éliminée, elle ne jouera pas la prochaine Coupe du monde. Comment le vivez-vous ?
C’est vrai que pour le Mondial, c’est fini. Ce n’était pas forcément le meilleur moment pour revenir car nous rencontrons des difficultés. Mais j’ai envie de me inscrire dans un nouveau cycle. Le but, c’est de se qualifier à la CAN 2015 au Maroc, et de remporter un trophée pour notre pays.
Comme lors de la CAN 2012, la Guinée joue souvent bien, elle a des joueurs de qualités. Mais elle n’a pas de résultats. Que lui manque-t-il ?
On a une équipe très jeune. Et lors de cette CAN 2012, ce qui nous a manqué, c’est l’expérience car beaucoup de joueurs découvraient le niveau international. On joue bien, on produit du jeu, c’est l’expérience qui fait défaut. Aujourd’hui, on a plus de maturité, à nous de le démontrer comme ce soir face aux Algériens.
Votre entraîneur Michel Dussuyer joue peut-être son avenir sur les deux prochains matches…
Je ne savais pas qu’il jouait son avenir sur ses rendez-vous… Maintenant, je crois qu’il a fait grandir cette équipe, et a donné de la confiance à certains joueurs. Pour ma part, je suis pour la stabilité quand on démarre un nouveau cycle, et c’est important pour tout le monde qu’il soit encore là.
Sincèrement, dans ma tête, si je peux faire toute ma carrière à Milan…
La Guinée a souvent malmené l’Algérie par le passé. Que pensez-vous de cet adversaire ?
C’est une très belle sélection qui a été renforcée ces derniers temps par des joueurs de qualités. Ce sera une belle opposition car l’Algérie, comme nous, est une équipe qui propose du jeu. Je sais que c’est une équipe en forme qui vient d’enchaîner plusieurs victoires. Traditionnellement, la Guinée met en difficulté l’Algérie, mais il ne faut pas se fier aux statistiques. Ce n’est pas un match à prendre à la légère. Cela peut être une équipe favorite pour la prochaine CAN, c’est vraiment un bon test.
